Many of the items in ContactsLaw (e.g. contacts, matters, documents, etc) have provision for notes, which use Markdown formatting.
There is no restriction on what can be placed in the notes section, however sensitive information (such as passwords, confidential details, etc) is discouraged. When permissions are assigned liberally, many users may have access to the notes. They are not encrypted.
