In ContactsLaw, it is possible to open a department or workgroup in a '''tab''', in the same way that a contact tab or the practice tab may be opened. In the same way files open under contact tabs, workgroups open under the tab for their department. Once open, a workgroup tab contains summary information, management settings and reports pertaining to the workgroup.
In ContactsLaw, it is possible to open a workgroup in a '''tab'''. Just select the 'Workgroups' button in the top ribbon under Home and the selected workgroup will open in a tab. Contacts Tab

In ContactsLaw, opening or navigating to a contact will cause a new tab to be added to the top of the screen. A contact tab allows you to switch between contacts while working, and provides a home for the various lists, ledgers and summary information about the contact. All operations that can be performed on the contact are accessed from the contact's tab. Additionally, Matters for which the contact is the client will open under the tab.

The tab will use the contact's Display-as name as its caption (editable from the contact summary screen).

Matter Tab

When a matter is opened, a tab will open. The tab contains the summary information for the matter as well a summary menu. Multiple matter and contact tabs can be opened at one time. You can switch between them by clicking on the tabs.

When a matter tab is no longer required, it can be closed using the 'X' button.
