Blocked File Type

ContactsLaw can be configured to prevent certain file types (formats) from being uploaded. This may be for security reasons, business policies or simply when a particular format serves no useful purpose.

Default Values

    • wav
    • mp3
  • Video (not recommended)
    • avi
    • mp4
    • mov
    • mkv
  • Compressed Archive
    • zip²
  • Disc Image (unsupported)
    • bin
    • iso
    • img
  • Executable Files (security reasons)
    • exe
    • dll
    • scr
    • ocx
    • msi
    • bat
    • lnk
    • url
  • Legacy Microsoft Outlook (unsupported)
    • pst
    • ost
  • Misc
    • bak
    • hlp
    • chm
    • chw
    • partial

¹ Although blocked by default, you can remove these formats from the list to enable voice memo functionality.
² ContactsLaw includes functionality to extract the contents of ZIP archives during upload.
