A policy is a concept in ContactsLaw that applies to a subscription, business or workgroup. Policies govern the behaviour of various functionality and may change over time.
ContactsLaw retains a complete history of all changes, including when they come into effect and when/if they cease to apply. This makes it possible to forward-date anticipated changes, as well as varying how the software behaves according to the date of an entry.
Types
The following policy types are implemented:
- Billing
- Invoices due after (days)
- Charge interest after (days)
- Interest rate (%)
- Unit for billing time (mins)
- Matters
- Client requirements - Whether the clients/liaison of a matter require a mailing address, email address, telephone number or some combination thereof. If a liaison is present, the requirements apply to that contact only; otherwise, the requirements apply to all clients of the matter.
