A role (with respect to security) is a subscription-specific label that can be assigned to members in order to grant permissions.

Built-In Roles

Some roles are defined by the system and carry a special meaning:

  • User - The default role for all new members. It is intended to grant a set of common permissions.
  • Administrator - A special role that implicitly grants all possible permissions. It should not be used on a day-to-day basis.
