A member is a subscription-specific user profile. All actions within ContactsLaw are performed by a particular member.

A member can be either:

  • An interactive user (with a CPMS ID); or
  • A service account (a system component or third-party application)

Roles are assigned to members and determine their permissions.

Provisioning

Although members can be created manually, they are more commonly added to a subscription through a provisioning process that occurs between CPMS ID and ContactsLaw.

When you add a user (or application) to a subscription via CPMS ID, they will immediately be able to log in as the system creates a member. Normal users are assigned the built-in User role, while subscription managers are assigned the Administrator role. You can add/remove roles at any time.
