Client

From ContactsLaw Documentation

A contact becomes a client the first time you create a matter and list them as such.

Clients may be subject to additional requirements than ordinary contacts, depending on your configured policies.

ContactsLaw treats clients slightly differently depending on whether they are nominated as the primary client for one or more matters.

Client Numbers

Clients are assigned a unique client number (per-business) which is used to build matter codes.

Note: Since matter codes are derived from the number of the primary client only, other clients may not receive a number immediately; it will be assigned when needed.

Guest Access

The information in this section relates to a pre-release version of ContactsLaw and is not representative of the final product.

You can grant guest access to clients. They will receive an invitation to either register a new CPMS ID or log in with their existing account.

Guest access requires a client number; one will be assigned if not already present.

Permissions

Guests are special, restricted users which hold the guest role only. You assign permissions to guest users on a per-matter basis. By design, they can only access items that exist within the matter(s) for which they are listed as a client.
