Contact Financial Entry

From ContactsLaw Documentation

Financial entries can be added to contacts, such as bank account details and payment preferences. These allow transactions to be pre-filled and may influence other behaviour such as reminders.

Types

The following types of entries relate to a specific business (only one entry is allowed in each business):

  • Payment preferences - Records the contact's preferred payment method and an associated expense account.
  • Credit terms - For creditor contacts. Records the terms of credit, e.g. 30 days.

The following types of entries apply to the entire subscription (multiple entries are allowed, one of each type can be marked as preferred):

  • Bank account - Records the BSB and account number of a bank account.
  • PayID - Records the details of a PayID.
  • Credit card - Records the details of a credit card, e.g. where an authority exists.
  • BPay details - Records BPay details.
  • International bank account - Records the SWIFT code, account number and IBAN for an international bank account.

Properties

In addition to the details which are specific to the type of entry, you can also add a related document. This may be an authority or proof of verification.

Verification

Financial entries include a facility for verification. Verification is optional, however ContactsLaw will warn when unverified bank or PayID details are used in a transaction.

Note that details which are entered directly into a transaction (and do not exist as financial entries on the payee) cannot be verified. ContactsLaw will warn if such details do not match entries on the contact.
